A new £1million funding package has been launched to help businesses in Keighley expand and create jobs.
The investment, delivered by Bradford Council with support from the Keighley Neighbourhood Board and the Local Regeneration Fund, will help local companies improve their premises and purchase new equipment.
The funding follows the success of an earlier Capital Asset Grant Scheme, which supported 36 businesses in modernising their facilities and improving their operations.
The council says the previous scheme helped create 127 new jobs in the area.
The latest funding is intended to help more businesses increase their capacity, invest in new technology and support the local economy.
Tim Rogers, Chair of the Keighley Neighbourhood Board, said:
“The success of previous funding has proved that targeted capital grants have an incredible ripple effect on our local economy.
“By helping those businesses to grow, we paved the way for more than a hundred new job opportunities right here in our community.
“This new £1 million injection will empower even more local firms to invest in their future, scale up their operations, and ensure that Keighley remains a robust hub for enterprise and innovation.”
Councillor Andrew Judson, Bradford Council's Executive Member for Economy, Regeneration and Planning, said the investment would help businesses plan for the future.
He said:
“Regeneration is far more than just updating physical infrastructure; it is fundamentally about creating economic confidence and supporting enterprise, which in turn creates opportunities for local people.
“This £1 million package shows our continued commitment to putting local employers at the heart of Keighley’s future.
“We want to ensure Keighley remains somewhere businesses can truly prosper, and I would urge eligible local businesses to take advantage of the financial support available.”
Businesses in the Keighley area looking to expand, purchase equipment or upgrade their premises can contact Invest in Bradford for details about eligibility and how to apply.
