A charity ball at Rudding Park has raised more than £280,000 for Martin House children’s hospice – the highest total in the event’s history.
The Glitter Ball was hosted by broadcasters and hospice ambassadors Christine Talbot and Duncan Wood, with Gareth Southgate attending as a special guest.
Auctioneer Angus Ashworth also helped raise funds on the night, while families supported by Martin House shared their stories with guests.
Announcing the final total, Martin House said:
“The final totals are in, and we’re over the moon to share that together, we’ve made Glitter Ball history, raising more than £280,000!
“We’re blown away by the incredible generosity of everyone who made the night so special.
"From our fabulous guests and live entertainment to the wonderful team at Rudding Park Hotel and all the suppliers who helped bring the evening to life.”

The total was supported by donations, bids in an online auction and prizes contributed by supporters.
The charity added:
“A special thank you to the families who shared their stories on the night, reminding us all why this support matters so much to children, young people and their families.”
Haribo UK & Ireland was the event’s headline sponsor, continuing its longstanding support for Martin House.
KPP Architects sponsored the drinks reception, with further event sponsorship from CLOUD NINE, Nicolla Florist, Tick Tock Nursery, Nuvem Solutions and Berry’s Jewellers.
Kokoon and Positive Graphics also supported the addition of a Vogue Box at this year’s event.
Thanking everyone involved, Martin House said:
“To everyone who played a part, you’ve helped make a lasting difference...and for that, we can’t thank you enough!”
