Organisers of the Great Skipton Santa Fun Run have announced a new 5K route for this year’s event.
The festive fundraiser will return on Sunday 29th November, starting at 11am on Skipton High Street ahead of the town’s Christmas lights switch-on later that day.
Organisers say changes to the route have been made to help keep the event safe and enjoyable for participants.
They have shared a new map and are encouraging those taking part to familiarise themselves with the course.
A spokesperson said:
“To ensure the event remains as safe and enjoyable as possible for all our participants, we’ve made some changes to the 5K route for this year’s event.
“But don’t worry... all the festive fun and Christmas cheer will still be there.
“We can’t wait to see hundreds of Santas bringing festive cheer to the streets of Skipton once again.”
Now in its 17th year, the event follows a successful 2025 fundraiser which attracted 2,500 participants and support from 43 commercial sponsors, raising £73,005 through entry fees, sponsorship and donations.
Organised by local Rotary clubs with support from Skipton Town Council, the event raises money for Sue Ryder Manorlands, local Skipton charities and other Rotary causes, alongside participants’ own chosen charities.
A shorter 3K route is also available for walkers and wheelchair users, taking in Aireville Park. People aged six and over can take part, with families and community groups encouraged to enter together.
Advance entry costs £22 for adults and £10 for children, with a Santa T-shirt, hat and commemorative medal included.
Registration is open through RaceBest.
