Local charity Keighley Healthy Living celebrated 25 years since they began, at a special event on 30th September.
Keighley Healthy Living has celebrated its 25th anniversary with a special event attended by nearly 200 people.
The charity welcomed service users, volunteers and local professionals to its Scott Street building on 30th September to mark a quarter of a century since it was established.
Visitors were able to learn about the charity's history and current work, contribute to a commemorative mosaic, take part in exercise taster sessions and enjoy its garden and food.
Melanie Hey, CEO of Keighley Healthy Living, said:
“We loved inviting everyone in for our 25 year celebration. It was great to see so many service users, volunteers and other professionals, and engage in many interesting conversations.
“It was a great opportunity to reflect on the growth of KHL and reminisce on the history of the organisation.
"It was fantastic to hear all the stories and the impact of KHL over the years.”
Keighley Healthy Living began in 2001 when a small group of people came together with the aim of making Keighley a healthier place.
It has since grown to employ more than 30 staff and now delivers projects across Keighley and the wider Bradford district.
Its work supports people living with long-term health conditions, chronic pain and mental health challenges, as well as those with maternal health needs and people looking to improve their general health and wellbeing.
Support includes social activities, exercise groups, health coaching and wellbeing services.
Pam Essler, Chair of Keighley Healthy Living, said:
“A big thank you to everyone for all the work that went into planning and supporting such a wonderful event.
“Not only did it showcase the present organisation but also provided an opportunity for people to reminisce and remember the past as well as plan for the future.
“We are so lucky to have such a strong supportive group of people working with us.
"Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
To further commemorate its 25th anniversary, Keighley Healthy Living has planted a tree in the grounds of Cliffe Castle.
