Settle Beer Festival raises over £14,000 for two local causes

Settle Beer Festival 2026.

The Settle Victoria Hall Beer Festival has raised more than £14,000 for two local causes following its return to the town earlier this month.

The popular three-day event took place from August 6th to 8th at Settle Victoria Hall, welcoming residents, visitors and beer enthusiasts to the historic venue.

The festival is held at Settle Victoria Hall, described as the world's oldest surviving music hall, and offered free entry for visitors throughout the event.

Alongside a selection of ales and ciders, the festival featured live music across the three days and provided a family-friendly day out for people visiting Settle.

Every pint served helped raise money for Settle Victoria Hall and The Principle Trust Children's Charity.

The funds will be shared between the two organisations, helping Settle Victoria Hall continue its programme of arts, culture and community activities, while supporting The Principle Trust's work providing respite breaks for children and families across Yorkshire.

More than £7,000 of the money raised will go directly to The Principle Trust.

The charity said this could potentially fund week-long respite breaks for seven children facing adversity, with each break including a food hamper to help families enjoy time away together.

The annual festival was founded by Tanya and Mark Wildsmith and has become a popular fixture in Settle's events calendar.

This year's event was supported by Rathbones as headline sponsor, with Walker Foster Solicitors sponsoring the programme and barrels.

Kerry Magson, Partnerships and Engagement Manager at The Principle Trust Children's Charity, said the festival demonstrated the community spirit in Settle.

“The Settle Victoria Hall Beer Festival is a brilliant example of the community spirit we have here in Settle, while also bringing people from further afield together to enjoy a great day out while supporting two local brilliant causes,”.

“We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who organised, attended and supported the festival.

"Their generosity will make a real difference, helping us continue our mission of providing much-needed respite breaks for children and families across Yorkshire.”

The money raised will help The Principle Trust continue providing breaks for children and families facing difficult circumstances.

Since the charity was launched in 2011 by founder Mike Davies MBE, it says it has provided respite breaks for more than 6,300 children from across the region.

The charity operates respite homes in Blackpool, Filey and the Lake District, giving children facing adversity, including mental health challenges, the opportunity to spend time away from their everyday circumstances with their families.

For Settle Victoria Hall, meanwhile, the fundraising will help support the continued running of the historic venue and its programme of community and cultural activities.
