Five drivers from the Keighley Bus Company have achieved the highest possible ranking in an internationally recognised safety programme.
The drivers have been awarded ‘Grand Master’ status through GreenRoad, technology used across Transdev's bus fleet to monitor driving performance.
The Keighley Bus Company operates services across a wide area of West Yorkshire, including routes connecting Keighley with Skipton and Ilkley.
GreenRoad records information from bus journeys, including braking, acceleration, fuel efficiency and idling rates.
The technology is designed to give drivers real-time information about their driving and helps measure how safely and smoothly journeys are being operated.
This year, 134 Transdev drivers across northern England achieved ‘Fleet Elite’ status.
To qualify, drivers must record five or fewer events, such as harsh braking or acceleration, for every 10 hours on the road, across at least 500 hours of driving.
Of those 134 drivers, 24 are based in Keighley.
Five of those 24 drivers went one step further and achieved the top GreenRoad ranking of ‘Grand Master’.
The award recognises drivers who have achieved Fleet Elite status for five consecutive years.
It is intended to highlight an exceptional long-term commitment to safe and smooth passenger transport.
The achievement is particularly relevant to passengers across Skipton and Ilkley, where Keighley Bus Company services provide connections between the towns and the wider region.
Transdev has been using GreenRoad to monitor driver performance for more than a decade, with the technology used across its fleet of single and double-decker buses.
Transdev Head of Operations Kel Pizzuti said the company was proud of the drivers who had achieved Fleet Elite status.

In total, 21 Transdev drivers across Yorkshire and Lancashire achieved Grand Master status this year.
