Local nursery celebrates graduation day at Airedale Hospital

Staff and children at Nightingales Nursery celebrated graduation day.

Children at Airedale Hospital's Nightingales Nursery have celebrated their last day.

35 children put on their graduation caps to celebrate an incredible milestone at Nightingales Day Nursery at Airedale Hospital.

Children from the nursery’s Robins class and their families were invited to attend a special event to commemorate their last day at nursery before they move up to primary school.

The event kicked off with a disco and was then followed by a ceremony where each child was given a certificate by their key worker.

Deputy Childcare Manager, Charlotte Hine said:

“The graduation morning was a lovely opportunity to come together and share all of the memories that we have of the children from their time at Nightingales.

"All of the children and their families will be greatly missed by the team.

"We wish our class of 2024 the best of luck on their new adventure at primary school.”

30 children are expected to move up from the nursery’s current Kingfisher class to join the Robins in September.

Nightingales Day Nursery

Nightingales Day Nursery is an onsite nursery that can be used by family members who work at Airedale Hospital.

Their main ethos is to ensure their children learn through play, and they work in close partnership with parents in order to make sure children achieve their full potential.

The nursery cares for children from 10 weeks old to school age, from 7am to 6pm, five days a week.

The nursery has been rated 'Good' from Ofsted.
