The Goats Head in Steeton has announced it has closed with immediate effect after more than seven years under its current owners.
Sharing the news on social media, the owners said the decision was not one they "ever wanted to post" and came after exhausting their savings in an effort to keep the pub open.
In a statement, they said:
"This is not a message we ever wanted to post but with immediate effect, we will be closing the Goats Head.
We have done everything we possibly could to keep it open, exhausting our savings and working every hour we could, but it's still not enough.
We want to thank you for all your support and we will leave remembering the good times and the love and support you have shown us over the past seven and a half years."
The owners also confirmed the pub is now available to lease and said they hope someone else will take on the venue.
They added:
"The pub is up for lease, so we're hoping someone will come along and love it as much as we first did.
So for now, we'll see you at the other side of the bar for a drink."
No further details have been given about the closure.
