Entries open for 2024 Skipton Santa Fun Run

With 6 months to go, entries have opened for this year's Great Skipton Santa Fun Run organised by the Rotary Club of Skipton Craven.

It will be the 15th Santa Fun Run in the town, with up to 2,000 runners, joggers, walkers, pushchairs and wheelchairs completing the 5km and 3km routes around Skipton on Sunday 24th November.

The routes start and finish on Skipton High Street, with the runners setting off at 11am on the day.

Since 2010, the event has raised almost £500,000 for Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice and other local charities. 400 people took part in the inaugural event, with the number of participants growing to 1,848 in 2023.

The event takes place with the support of Skipton Town Council, which is putting on a day of entertainment and stalls the same afternoon once the Santa Fun Run has finished, ahead of the town's Christmas Lights Switch-On event. Rombalds Radio will be once again hosting the entertainment on the High Street's main stage - kicking off with the warm-up for the Santa Fun Run from around 10.30am.

Anyone aged 6 years and over - and of any ability - can take part in the Skipton Santa Fun Run, with families and local community groups encouraged to enter teams to run as a group and raise sponsorship money.

Many local charities, organisations and schools use the event to raise money for their own charities too - the first 10 such groups to enter a team of 25 people or more will receive a £250 incentive for their organisation. Just ensure all entries have the same team name and once entered, email the names to admin@skiptonsantafunrun.com.

Entry costs £22 for adults (£25 on the day) and £10 for children up to the age of 16, and includes a Santa T-shirt to run in - plus a commemorative medal for all finishers
