North Yorkshire Council has released a new set of calendars for 2026, each highlighting historic photographs from several towns across the county.
The project, first launched last year, aims to celebrate how local landscapes and well-known landmarks have changed over time.
Last year’s editions proved popular, selling out and raising around £1,350.
A calendar dedicated to Skipton is among the four new editions now available.
It features archive images dating from the late 19th century to the 1950s, offering a glimpse into everyday life and the evolution of the town’s familiar streets and buildings.
Calendars have also been produced for Knaresborough and Selby, with Harrogate’s edition briefly featuring well-known spots such as the Pump Rooms and Valley Gardens alongside some lesser-noticed buildings.
Cllr Myers commented on the brand new calendar saying:
“We were overwhelmed with the popularity of the calendars last year, and staff and volunteers have enjoyed sifting through more images to create 2026 editions.
"Archive images get people talking, capturing life among communities from bygone years across some of North Yorkshire's towns.
"The calendars are the perfect gift for friends, family and loved ones this Christmas.
"The profits will go towards maintaining our vital library services.”
The 2026 calendars are available to purchase for £6 at libraries in Skipton, Selby, Knaresborough and Harrogate.
Information on opening times and contact details can be found on North Yorkshire Council’s website at www.northyorks.gov.uk/local-libraries.
