Dales Dazzler trail running event returns to Skipton

The Punk Panther Dales Dazzler is back in Skipton this month.

Runners are set to take on some of the Yorkshire Dales’ most scenic trails when the Punk Panther Dales Dazzler returns to Skipton later this month.

The off-road event will take place on Saturday 29th August, with four distances available – a half marathon, 20-mile race and ultramarathons of 34 and 50 miles.

Starting from Skipton, runners will head west towards the Pennine Way near Pinhaw Beacon and Thornton-in-Craven.

Depending on their chosen distance, competitors will then take in locations including Gargrave, Malham Tarn, Arncliffe and Starbotton before joining the Dales Way.

The longer routes pass through Kettlewell, Grassington and Burnsall before reaching Barden Bridge and eventually returning to Skipton via Embsay.

The toughest 50-mile challenge features around 7,600ft of climbing, while the 34-mile route includes approximately 4,200ft.

The event, organised by Punk Panther Endurance Events, is open to runners aged 18 and over and has a maximum capacity of 200 participants.

Registration will take place in Skipton on the morning of the event, with ultramarathon runners equipped with trackers during their races.

All finishers will receive a medal and event T-shirt, unless they choose to opt out, with hot food and drinks also available at the finish.

Entries are currently open and are due to close on Sunday 16th August.
