The BBC have recently introduced a new Rise and Shine segment and Skipton made a feature this morning.
At 6:15am BBC Breakfast asked the question, "What makes Skipton the happiest place to live?".
This followed the recent announcement that Skipton was named the happiest place to live in the UK, calling it the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales.
The new Rise and Shine segment on BBC One Breakfast looks to highlight inspiring stories and efforts from communities across the UK, in an effort to make the news a more positive experience.
BBC spoke to various businesses in the area such as Drake and Macefield, Jen and James from Skipton Boat Trips and Jayne and Jade from Kibble Bakery.

Jen and James from Skipton Boat Trips
Jen and James spoke to the BBC on why moving from California to Skipton to run Skipton Boat Trips, sharing that now they have more time to spend with each other and their children.

Jade from Kibble Bakery
Jayne and Jade spoke to the BBC about Jayne's journey with cancer and opening the dog friendly café to spend more time together.
The show then headed to The Sound Bar, chatting to the locals to find out why Skipton was named the happiest place to live.
