A weekend festival of sport is set to return to Skipton later this spring, bringing a range of activities for participants of all ages and abilities.
The Skipton Multisport Festival will take place at Aireville Park over the second May Bank Holiday weekend on 23rd and 24th May.
Saturday’s programme begins at 11am and includes cycling sportives with two distance options, trail runs and other entertainment, along with food and drink available in the event village.
Sunday’s schedule, starting at 9am, will feature adult sprint and supersprint triathlons, junior triathlon races and a junior sportive.
The junior triathlon races will also form part of the Yorkshire Junior Series, bringing young athletes from across the region to compete alongside local participants.
TBF Events (The Brownlee Foundation) which is organising the festival, says the event aims to encourage people to try multisport activities in a supportive environment.
For adults interested in trying the sport, the festival will also include pool-based supersprint and sprint triathlons, which provide an introduction to triathlon for newcomers as well as a short early-season race for experienced competitors.
The event village at Aireville Park will also host food, drink and activities throughout the weekend, allowing visitors to attend even if they are not taking part in the races.
The festival is organised by TBF Events, the mass participation arm of The Brownlee Foundation, which was set up by Olympic triathletes, the Brownlee brothers and profits from the event help support the Foundation’s work helping more young people access sport and physical activity.
More information about the festival and how to register to take part is available through the organisers’ website here.
