Construction of two new padel courts is underway at Skipton Tennis Centre at Sandylands.
The highly anticipated £300,000 project will give two canopied courts between the clubhouse and Engine Shed Lane.
Its completion date is set to be in Autumn due to the high popularity of the sport and grounds.
Skipton Tennis Centre won the Lawn Tennis Association’s Club of the Year award in 2017 and was also named Club of the Year for the North of England by the Lawn Tennis Association in 2018.
The sports village runs not only Padel but Tennis for juniors and adults.
After the project’s completion, Skipton Tennis Centre will begin a new project to install new floodlit tennis courts and to convert the existing three tennis courts into a different surface.
Although not confirmed, there are plan being set into place to introduce Pickleball courts to the sport's village.
