North Yorkshire Yarn Trail to include Skipton in map

Yarn lovers will be able to explore independent shops and businesses across North Yorkshire this month as the North Yorkshire Yarn Trail takes place from Saturday 12th September to Sunday 27th September.

Now in its latest edition, the trail will see 14 locations taking part, with Skipton playing an important role as the event culminates alongside Yarndale at Skipton Auction Mart.

Yarn Trail maps and passports will be available to collect from participating shops from Monday 7th September, allowing visitors to plan their route and collect stamps along the way.

Participants will visit participating shops, pick up a map and passport, and collect a stamp at each location you visit.

There is no purchase necessary to receive a stamp.

The participating businesses will also be hosting their own events and competitions throughout the trail, with visitors encouraged to follow individual shops on social media for details of what is happening at each location.

Yarndale is taking place at Skipton Auction Mart on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September.

Yarndale is a separate ticketed event, but some of the businesses involved in the Yarn Trail will also have stands at the show.

The North Yorkshire Yarn Trail will have its own stand, where visitors can collect an additional Yarndale stamp for their passport.

The trail will stop at Spinning Jenny and Purl & Jane in Skipton.

The organisers say the trail is an opportunity to discover local yarn shops and businesses while exploring different parts of North Yorkshire.

With Skipton set to welcome thousands of visitors for Yarndale, the town will provide a key meeting point for those taking part in the trail and looking to make the most of the county's wool and textile scene.
