The Skipton BID team were delighted to deliver another successful Pop-Up Pumpkin Patch to bring a traditional Halloween feel into the town centre.
Held on the Canal Basin last Thursday (October 29th), the pop-up patch was a success with all of the pumpkins being picked by the hundreds of families visiting across the day to join in with the Halloween activities.
Sarah Howsen, Skipton BID Manager, said:
“We were absolutely delighted with the response to this year’s Pop-Up Pumpkin Patch. It’s always such a popular event.
“Seeing more than 200 pumpkins picked is a fantastic result and shows just how much families enjoy coming into Skipton to take part in seasonal events like this.
“The pumpkin patch created a wonderful atmosphere in the town, brought plenty of smiles to visitors of all ages and hopefully helped to encourage people to spend time exploring our businesses.
“We'd like to thank everyone who joined us and helped make the event such a success once again."
Alongside the pumpkin patch, managed by Odin Events, there were carving workshops led by Sand in Your Eye and spooky crafting stalls hosted by Creative Peeps.
Across the half-term week, Skipton BID also organised the Monster Trail to encourage people into the town centre and to guide them around different businesses.
Data collected during the trail shows that more than 260 entries were submitted, with visitors travelling from areas including Northumberland, Hull and Leyburn to take part.
Ten different businesses hosted a Halloween-themed window sticker with a secret letter during the week.
Families taking part could collect trail maps from Skipton Town Hall or Craven Court before heading out to explore the town centre to discover each of the hidden letters to spell out the mystery pass phrase.
Everyone that entered the pop-up patch on Thursday had to complete the trail to discover the hidden password.
Those that completed the trail were also entered into a prize draw, with the winners set to be selected at random and contacted over the coming days.
Planning and organising for the Late-Night Shopping on November 26th is now well underway.
