A Yorkshire marketing consultancy has raised more than £1,000 for Skipton-based The Principle Trust Children's Charity through a series of networking and co-working events supporting both local businesses and a local cause.
The Yorkshire Marketing Company raised the money through its Love Local Social Networking Events and Co-Working Clubs, bringing together business owners from across the region while fundraising for the charity.
The Co-Working Clubs, organised every other month by The Yorkshire Marketing Company, provide a supportive environment where business owners can step away from the day-to-day running of their companies to focus on improving their marketing, sharing ideas, overcoming challenges and connecting with like-minded entrepreneurs.
Founder Rachelle Atkin said choosing The Principle Trust Children's Charity as the fundraising beneficiary was an easy decision after learning more about the difference the organisation makes to families across Yorkshire.
As a mother herself, she said she understands the importance of family holidays in creating lasting memories and supporting wellbeing, while also recognising the charity's commitment to ensuring every donation directly benefits the children and families it supports.
Rachelle said:
"When I launched the Love Local Socials and Co-Working Clubs, I wanted to create something that brought local business owners together while giving something back to our community.
"To have raised over £1,000 for The Principle Trust Children's Charity in less than two years is something I'm incredibly proud of, and that's entirely down to the generosity of everyone who has attended, donated and supported the events."
With her business entering a new phase of growth, Rachelle has decided to pause the networking events while she focuses on her expanding portfolio of Fractional Marketing clients, although she hopes to bring them back in the future.
She added:
"Whether you attended a Co-Working Club, came along to a Love Local Social, donated to the charity or simply supported the events, you've played a part in raising over £1,000 for an incredible local cause.
"Together, we've made a genuine difference, and I couldn't have done it without you."
Kerry Magson, Partnerships and Engagement Manager for The Principle Trust Children's Charity, welcomed the donation.
She said:
"Personally, I have been a fan of Love Local Social and Co-Working Clubs, and I am truly grateful for the support from Rachelle and all the wonderful local businesses that attended.
"I know we both look forward to seeing the difference these fundraisers can make to children in need across Yorkshire."
The Principle Trust Children's Charity, which is based in Skipton, is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year.
The charity provides free week-long respite breaks for children and families across Yorkshire who are facing adverse childhood experiences and has now supported more than 6,000 children throughout the region.
