Skipton sparkled last night as the annual Christmas Light Switch On event came to the town centre, marking the start of the holiday season.
The day featured performances from community groups on the main stage, and a market filled with gifts and treats.
The lights were switched on by Santa and Peter Ripley.

"The Skipton Christmas Light Switch On is always such a special moment, and this year was no exception.
“We are incredibly proud of the community spirit and effort that made this event possible.
“From the fantastic performances by local groups to the hardworking traders and vendors who brought so much variety and vibrancy, and most importantly, to everyone who came out to support the event – thank you all for making it a day to remember."
Your Skipton presenters Alex Cann and Stuart Clarkson hosted the entertainment through the day on the high street stage, building up to the lights switch-on at 5pm.
Skipton Town Council extends heartfelt thanks to The Rotary Club of Skipton Craven for their incredible efforts in organizing this year’s Great Skipton Santa Fun Run.
