Skipton Three Peaks challenge raises £8,000 for dementia charity

Dementia Forward supports more than 5,500 families affected by dementia across North Yorkshire and York.

Walkers have raised more than £8,000 for Dementia Forward after completing an 18-mile challenge around the Skipton countryside.

The charity's third annual Skipton Three Peaks took place on Sunday 20th September, with participants tackling Sharp Haw, Embsay Crag and Skipton Moor.

Walkers were treated to sunshine and views across the surrounding countryside as they completed the route to raise money for the charity.

Dementia Forward supports more than 5,500 families affected by dementia across North Yorkshire and York.

The Skipton Three Peaks has continued to grow since it was first launched, bringing together supporters from across the local area.

Amy Senior, Fundraising Lead at Dementia Forward, said:

“It was fantastic to see so many people taking on the Skipton Three Peaks again this year.

“Thank you to everyone who joined us and for their fantastic fundraising efforts.”

The charity also thanked Barchester Healthcare for supporting the challenge and Skipton Community Sports Hub, which provided a meeting point and breakfast sandwiches for walkers before they set off.

Following the success of this year's event, Dementia Forward has already confirmed that the Skipton Three Peaks will return on Sunday 19th September 2027.
