In a recent study by Insurance company, Tempcover, Skipton was named in the top 10 for worst areas for penalised drivers.
The study dived into how many penalty points areas in the UK had.
According to DVLA data, speeding is responsible for around 68 percent of all driving penalties, making it the most common offence.
Skipton was named no.6 in the list for towns with the highest proportion of penalised drivers.
With 18.5% of Skipton residents having received points on their license, it just stood below no.5 Dartford, Kent.
Behind Skipton was Newquay, Cornwall at no.7 and Wetherby at no.8.
Taking top spot was the coastal town of Worthing in West Sussex with 21.5% of drivers having points on their licence.
