Free Halloween pumpkin patch and monster trail returning to Skipton

Skipton BID is fully funding the Halloween programme.

Families will be able to enjoy free Halloween activities in Skipton this October as the town's popular pumpkin patch and Monster Trail return for half-term.

Skipton BID is fully funding the Halloween programme, which will see more than 200 pumpkins take over the Canal Basin on Thursday 29th October.

Before entering the pop-up patch to choose a pumpkin, families will first need to complete a Monster Trail through Skipton town centre.

Participants will be challenged to find 10 ghosts and ghouls hidden inside businesses and uncover a mystery password.

Once they have completed the trail and revealed the password, families can enter the pumpkin patch, choose their favourite pumpkin and take part in a free carving workshop.

Skipton BID Manager Sarah Howsen said:

“We’re excited to once again bring some special Halloween fun into Skipton town centre.

“The pop-up patch is always so popular and we’re looking forward to seeing you all on the day.

“It’s a great chance to get your pumpkin carving done, free of charge, ready for the trick or treaters!

“But don’t forget you need to tell us the hidden password by finishing the trail before you can enter.”

The pumpkin patch will be open at the Canal Basin between 10am and 4pm, with wheelbarrows available for families to use while choosing their pumpkins.

There will also be a Halloween-themed photo opportunity and entertainment from a mischievous scarecrow.

Creative Peeps will host a stall offering free Halloween crafts, with other activities taking place around the pumpkin patch throughout the day.

The Monster Trail will run for longer, from Saturday 24th October until Sunday 1st November.

Anyone who completes the trail and submits their sheet with the correct mystery passphrase will also be entered into a prize draw to win a selection of Skipton-themed gifts.
