Manorlands runners raise £45,000 at Great North Run

Participants raised £45,000.

Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice is celebrating after 90 supporters completed the Great North Run and raised more than £45,000.

The runners took on the famous 13.1-mile challenge from Newcastle to South Shields earlier this month, joining tens of thousands of people for one of the UK’s biggest running events.

The route takes runners through Newcastle and Gateshead before heading towards the coast, with the finish line on the seafront in South Shields.

Manorlands, based near Keighley, provides expert palliative care and support for people living with life-limiting conditions, as well as their families.

A spokesperson for Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice said:

“90 incredible supporters took on the Great North Run last weekend, raising over £45,000.

“Their effort will help us to be there for more people when they need us most.”

The charity is now encouraging people inspired by this year’s runners to sign up to represent Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice at the 2027 Great North Run.
