Skipton Choral Society is inviting local singers to come along to a free open rehearsal this weekend to see what the choir is all about.
The open rehearsal takes place on Saturday 10 January from 9am to 1pm at Christ Church on Cross Street, Skipton.
It’s aimed at people who enjoy singing, have some experience reading music, and have sung before, and offers the chance to rehearse alongside current members in a relaxed, welcoming setting.
The session will focus on Passion Music by Will Todd, an uplifting, jazz-inspired choral work that will form the centrepiece of the choir’s Spring Concert at Skipton Town Hall in March.
The rehearsal will be led by the choir’s Musical Director, Robert Webb, with music and refreshments provided.
All voices are welcome, with particular interest in recruiting more male voices, although there is currently a waiting list for altos.
The event is free to attend, and anyone interested can either register in advance by emailing membership@skiptonchoralsociety.com
or simply turn up on the day.
