Silsden’s much‑loved Proms on the Farm is set to return to Jackson’s Field on Saturday 19th July, featuring five hours of live music performances in aid of two local charities.
The family‑friendly evening begins from 6.30pm with performers this year including Hot Aire Concert Band, local soprano April Elizabeth, The 1960 Four and the award-winning Tewit Silver Band.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own picnics and drinks - no refreshments will be available on site. Gazebo spaces are available to reserve, or you can just bring a deckchair to go in front of the stages. There are prizes for Best Dressed Gazebo and Best Dressed Chair too.
The annual event supports Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice and Silsden Methodist Church, with a bottle tombola and raffles taking place on the night.
It will once again be compered by Your Skipton Radio's lunchtime show presenter Stuart Clarkson.
Last year’s event, despite the rain, successfully raised £8,000, contributing to a total of £26,000 raised over the past three years for the two charities. With the continued support of the community, organisers are poised to further support these local causes in 2025.
Lead organiser William Jowitt commented:
“A huge thank you to all those who are supporting Silsden Proms on the Farm. It is a real community effort and we couldn’t put the Silsden Proms on without the support of local people, businesses and organisations who give their time or money to help make the event such a big success.”
He added:
“We’re surely due a sunny evening this year and we’ve got our fingers crossed that proves to be the case. Whether you’re a regular or you’ve never been to the Silsden Proms before we’d love to see you there. We can promise you brilliant musicians and a real community spirit, whatever the weather!”
