A tennis club in Gargrave is set to open its grounds to the public as part of this year’s village Open Gardens fundraising weekend.
The annual Open Gardens event, organised by St Andrew's Church, will take place on June 13th and 14th. The event raises money for the church as well as Manorlands Hospice and Martin House Children's Hospice. As part of the weekend, Craven Lawn Tennis Club will offer free tennis and croquet sessions for non-members between 11am and 5pm on both days. The club has seven courts, including four grass courts and three all-weather courts, with organisers hoping there will be plenty of opportunity for visitors to take part, weather permitting. Visitors are being asked to wear suitable clothing and footwear to help protect the playing surfaces. The club says the weekend will provide an opportunity for families and residents to try the facilities while also supporting the wider fundraising efforts linked to the Open Gardens event. Maps for the garden trail will also be available to purchase during the weekend.
