Skipton BID is excited to reveal its plans to bring the fantastic Yorkshire Day celebrations back into the town centre for another year.
The Business Improvement District (BID) fully funds and organises the Yorkshire Day fun annually on August 1st to bring footfall into the town centre location.
The celebrations are set to be bigger and better than ever this year, with live music to extend into the evening on the Canal Basin as the date falls on a Saturday in 2026.
Sarah Howsen, Skipton BID Manager, said:
“With just one month to go, we can’t wait to bring the Yorkshire Day festivities back for another year!
“It’s always such a popular, well-attended day that creates a county-proud buzz around the Basin area.
“As the BID, we’re delighted to fully fund events like this to encourage people into Skipton to ensure our town centre remains a vibrant and inspiring place to be.”
This year, visitors can expect to see a petting zoo, Morris Dancers, circus tricks, crazy golf, a surf simulator, giant games, arts, crafts, live music food, drinks and more.
The celebrations are once again set to be held on the Canal Basin and the adjacent Coach Street Car Park from 10am until around 7pm with the extension of the live music offer.
The activities will run until 4pm, but the live music, food and drink offer will extend until 7pm.
The BID is pleased to be working alongside media partner Your Skipton to deliver coverage in the lead up to and on the day of the event.
Delicious food and refreshing drinks will be on offer from a range of different vendors across the day.
They will be located on the Basin area with a more relaxed vibe, with the games, activities and performances to be set within the neighbouring Car Park.
In line with the organisation’s ‘Vibrant & Inspiring’ objective, Skipton BID is proud to organise these events at key times of the year to boost footfall.
