Airedale Hospital & Community Charity is appealing for help from the community to support their annual Christmas Gift Appeal again in 2024.
The charity is asking for donations of gifts for patients who will be spending their Christmas on the wards of Airedale.
From paediatric patients in the Neo-natal and Children’s Units to older patients in the Dementia and Elderly Care Wards, the Christmas Gift Appeal could help bring comfort and joy to patients over the festive season.
Laura Hepworth, Community Fundraiser said:
“Our annual gift appeal is the perfect way to bring home comforts, festive cheer and a touch of normality to patients who stay on our wards over Christmas. Not everyone has the opportunity to go home so we do our very best to ensure everyone’s day is really special, but we need your help to do it.
She added,
“Donating a gift to our patients is the best way to help us spread the holiday spirit throughout the Hospital and bring smiles to our patients’ faces on Christmas Day.
We’d like to express a big thank you to those who are considering donating.”
If you are interested in gifting, presents can be as simple as a pair of fluffy socks, a soft blanket, colouring or puzzle books to help pass the time.
The charity asks that the gifts are not wrapped in paper but put in a small box or gift bag with the intended age and gender of the gift labelled.
The final day to drop gifts off is Wednesday 11 December 2024.
Donations can be dropped off at the charity office (location C33) at Airedale General Hospital.
For advice or to organise a drop off for your donation, please contact the charity by email anhsft.charity@nhs.net or call 01535 294870.
