Local musical theatre fans are in for a treat as former Wicked and Les Miserables star Kerry Ellis performs an intimate gig in Glusburn this weekend.
Kerry is widely recognised as one of musical theatre's leading ladies, with starring roles both in London's West End and on Broadway in New York.
She originated the role of Meat in Queen’s We Will Rock You musical and was the first British actress to play Elphaba, taking over from Idina Menzel in the original London cast of Wicked. She then transferred to Broadway where she spent six months as the green witch.
Her many other leading role credits include Nancy in Oliver!, Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, Ellen in Miss Saigon and Fantine in Les Miserables.
She collaborated with Sir Brian May on an album, Wicked in Rock, and was then signed by Universal as a solo recording artist.
Kerry will take to the stage with her 'Queen of the West End' show at Glusburn Institute Community and Arts Centre this Saturday night (27th September) at 7.30pm where she'll look back on her illustrious career by sharing stories from her time in musical theatre, as well as performing some huge musical hits.
A limited number of tickets are still available, priced from £30.50, as well as pre-show meet and greet opportunities with Kerry for VIP ticketholders.
