Skipton BID asks traders to join Yorkshire Day 2026

Yorkshire Day 2025

Skipton BID is calling on local traders to join the Yorkshire Day celebrations in the town this year.

Following a successful event in 2025, the BID team are excited to bring the Yorkshire Day celebrations back to the Canal Basin and the adjacent car park on Saturday, August 1st.

Fully funded by the Business Improvement District (BID), the Yorkshire Day celebration will bring a series of free, family-friendly activities into the town centre from Morris Dancers and face painting to arts, crafts and a petting zoo!

The 2026 event will extend with a new addition too, with live music performers set to take to the stage until the evening.

Sarah Howsen, Skipton BID Manager, said:

“The Yorkshire Day celebration is always popular and we can’t wait to bring it back to the Canal Basin.

“It’s always a lovely day bringing Yorkshire pride into Skipton through tradition and spirit, so make sure you don’t miss out on honouring on ‘God’s Own County’!”

The BID team is now calling on local traders to get involved with Yorkshire Day 2026 and applications are OPEN.

Sarah added:

“We’re looking for local businesses to showcase the best of Yorkshire, from artisan crafts to delicious food and drink.

“This is your chance to connect with thousands of visitors and celebrate all things Yorkshire.”

With live music running until 7 pm, it’s encouraged that vendors offering hot food and drinks should attend for the whole day.

Any Yorkshire-themed business looking to get involved can complete the online form by clicking here.
