Customers who are planning to visit some fantastic Christmas markets in Yorkshire over the festive season are being offered £2 train tickets.
The special offer is available to those heading to markets in Halifax, Scarborough, Harrogate, Knaresborough and Skipton.
Adults can buy single tickets – to travel on Northern services on selected routes – for £2 and child tickets for just £1.
They can be purchased at station ticket offices, from ticket vending machines and on the Northern website or app, at least three days before travel.
Alex Hornby, Northern’s customer and commercial director, said:
“To help everyone get into the festive spirit this year, we’re offering cheap fares so customers can travel to some of the brilliant traditional Christmas markets across Yorkshire.
“We know how popular the big cities can be, so we wanted to do something to shine a light on the fantastic markets and events in the smaller towns we serve.
"We hope these great ticket prices will leave our customers with a little extra money to spend at the stalls. They can also avoid all the stress that comes with sitting in traffic and searching for a parking space during these busy events.
"There are only a limited number of these discounted tickets available, so we're encouraging customers to book now to avoid missing out."
The £2 tickets are available to customers travelling to the following markets:
- The Piece Hall Christmas Market in Halifax – November 14 to December 21 (on Fridays, Saturday and Sundays)
- Scarborough Sparkle – November 28 to November 30
- Harrogate Christmas Fayre – December 5 to December 14
- Knaresborough Christmas Market – December 6 to December 7
- Skipton Christmas Market – December 7 and December 14
For more information about which stations you can travel from with the £2 tickets, visit the Northern website.
