Police searching for missing local entertainer Martyn Crofts say they have recovered a body from Whinny Gill reservoir.
The discovery was made during searches earlier today (Tuesday 17th December), after 55 year old Martyn was reported missing early on Monday morning.
Martyn was a popular local DJ and entertainer and shot to fame on the 2012 series of Britain's Got Talent, with his impersonation of a Dalek giving him the nickname 'pan man'. He reached the live semi-finals of the ITV show, saying at his audition that his dream was to perform at Skipton Gala.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said:
"While formal identification has not yet been completed, Martyn’s family has been informed and is being supported by officers.
"We would like to thank everyone who shared our appeal and provided information to assist our enquiries.
"At this stage, there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the discovery, and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
