Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in Sutton-in-Craven, which has left a pedestrian with critical injuries.
The incident happened at around 3.40pm on Tuesday 27th January 2026 on Holme Lane, at the junction with Bridge Road.
The collision involved a white Toyota Prius, a black BMW X5 and a female pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a woman in her 50s, was taken to the hospital where she remains in a critical condition.
The drivers of both vehicles were not injured and are assisting police with their enquiries.
North Yorkshire Police have thanked members of the public who stopped to help at the scene and are continuing to appeal for further information.
Officers are particularly keen to speak to a driver who turned left onto Bridge Road from Holme Lane shortly before the collision, at the same time the black BMW pulled into Holme Lane.
Anyone who witnessed the collision, saw either of the vehicles or the pedestrian beforehand, or has relevant dashcam footage, is asked to contact the Major Collision Investigation Team by emailing MCIT@northyshire.police.uk or by calling 101.
When getting in touch, people are asked to quote reference number 12260016384.
