Wondering how to keep the children entertained for 6 long weeks, various organisations in Skipton have put together a number of free events for the family to help out over the long summer holidays.
Skipton BID are working with Creative Peeps to deliver creative art and craft sessions every week throughout the summer holidays. Starting with Pirates & Princesses on July 23rd children are invited to come along and enjoy themed crafting sessions. The workshops will take place in the Swadford Café so while the kids are at play the adults can enjoy any drink with a scone or cake for £5.00 in the café, each parent who purchases a drink/cake will receive a ticket for a free single scoop ice cream or ice lolly for their child.
Skipton BID supported by Skipton Town Council will also bring a fantastic Yorkshire Day celebration to the town. The event will take place on the High Street on 1st August from 10am – 4pm. Enjoy some live music from the Flat Cap Band and the fantastic Great Yorkshire Morris will be entertaining us throughout the day. Lots of fun for the children with Yorkshire themed crafting, face painting, Yorkshire quizzes and even a rodeo sheep! Giant games will line the High Street and the football lovers out there can test their skills on the inflatable Football Shoot Out! All activities are free!
Skipton Town Council will once again be running the Skipton Family Fun Days which take place in the different recreational areas around town. There will be plenty of activities including bouncy castles, crafts, sports classes by kanga, giant kids games and an ice cream van and they start at Bold Venture recreational ground on the 22nd July. They run every week until 29th August.
