Skipton is one of the top 10 happiest places to live in the UK, according to Rightmove.
More than 35,000 people across Britain completed the Rightmove study, with residents asked questions such as how proud they feel about where they live, their sense of belonging, public transport and whether they earn enough to live comfortably.
Feeling proud to live in an area was the main factor in overall satisfaction, Rightmove said, while living near family and friends was the smallest driver.
Skipton ranked in sixth place whilst Woodbridge – a market town in Suffolk - topped Rightmove's annual list for the first time, after knocking London's Richmond upon Thames off the top spot.
Patrick McCutcheon, head of residential at Dacre, Son & Hartley, which has 20 offices in West and North Yorkshire, including one in Skipton, said:
“It’s easy to see why Harrogate and Skipton have made it into this list.
"Both have achieved similar accolades in the past and demand for property in Harrogate, Skipton and the surrounding villages is as high as ever, because they have so much to offer.
"Both have a strong identity and interesting histories with community at the heart alongside plenty of green space and a wide range of attractive house types including apartments and traditional terraces through to grand houses sitting in acres of land.
“With amenities aplenty, including great schools, as well as sports and leisure facilities, great shops and restaurants, combined with the fact that Harrogate and Skipton are surrounded by stunning countryside and have excellent rail links to bigger cities, it’s easy to understand why people love living there!”
