Following a water mains leak and crack in the road at the junction of Keighley Rd and Carleton Rd in Skipton, Yorkshire Water have told Your Skipton they expect to reopen the road by Tuesday 25 November.
Many residents have been complaining about the water mains leak at the junction of Carleton Rd and Skipton Rd.
Photos have been shared of large amounts of water flowing on the road from a large crack in the surface which has worsened over recent days.
A Yorkshire Water spokesperson told Your Skipton this morning (21/11):
"The leak was repaired yesterday, and the road is now being reinstated. The road will be reopened as soon as it is safe to do, which we're currently expecting to be by Tuesday 25 November. We'd like to thank everyone for their patience."
With temporary lights in place, the road surface has been dug up to fix the problem.
Residents continue to complain online about dangerous conditions, with lots of ice and uneven surfaces having been caused by the leak.
Pedestrians have been forced to walk in the road to avoid the water leak in the junction.
Your Skipton will continue to provide updates as they come in.
