Julian Smith MP has announced the winners of the Local Pub Awards 2025 for Skipton and Ripon following a public nomination and voting process held over the summer.
The Black Swan in Ripon was named Best Pub after receiving the highest number of votes from local residents.
Other award winners include:

Best High Street Pub: Woolly Sheep Inn, Skipton

Best Rural Pub: The Plough, Wigglesworth

Staff Member of the Year: Sera, The Albion, Skipton
Alongside the winners, a number of other pubs across the constituency received nominations from residents, reflecting the popularity of local venues and the strength of community support.
These included:
- The Albion in Skipton
- The Kings Arms in Gargrave
- The Unicorn in Ripon,
Organisers of the awards said the initiative aimed to recognise the contribution pubs make as social spaces, employers, and part of the cultural landscape in the area.
Certificates have been sent to all category winners, and the Black Swan will receive its award in person during a forthcoming visit.
