A local entrepreneur from Eastburn has launched a pioneering new business in Skipton after an unexpected turn of events led her from a job interview to running her own company.
Former sales director Rachel Beck, 41, is the founder of Vigor Vitamins Limited, a Yorkshire-based supplement brand which recently launched its products at a local event in Skipton.
The launch featured guest speakers including former GP and proactive health advocate Dr Will Dawson, Apprentice 2024 winner Rachel Woolford, and a range of health and wellness professionals.
Rachel’s journey into entrepreneurship began when she applied for a role at a supplement manufacturing company. After presenting her ideas for products, branding and leadership, she was told she was better suited to leading her own business.
Instead of the job, she was offered a partnership — combining her vision for a transparent, effective supplement range with the manufacturer’s 40 years of experience.
Vigor Vitamins aims to simplify the supplement market for busy women aged 35 and over, offering products made in Yorkshire without fillers or additives and compliant with UK quality standards.
Its first multivitamin includes all 13 essential vitamins, along with Choline and Inositol, and has been designed for women approaching perimenopause and menopause.
The company’s latest launch, Vigor Collagen, is the UK’s first supplement to combine Marine and Bovine collagen in one pure, unflavoured blend, allowing customers to benefit from both sources.
Rachel has also introduced Biophotonic glass packaging — the first of its kind in the UK — which helps preserve product quality and supports sustainable, UK-based production.
Rachel’s own health challenges, including anxiety and anaemia, have shaped her approach to business and wellbeing. She says her goal is to make supplements more honest, accessible and effective, focusing on what genuinely works rather than quick fixes.
Now partnering with local salons, gyms, nutritionists and holistic therapists across Yorkshire, Rachel hopes her Skipton launch will mark the start of a wider movement to make women’s wellness simpler and more transparent.
