73 Knives collected from Skipton Knife Bin by North Yorkshire Police

North Yorkshire Police

Seventy-three knives and bladed items have been safely disposed of.

The knives were collected from the knife bin at Skipton Town Hall car park.

The collection is part of an initiative to provide members of the public with a safe and anonymous way to dispose of unwanted knives.

Organisers say the bins help prevent blades from being misused or falling into the wrong hands.

Permanent knife bins are located at Skipton Town Hall car park and Whitefriars car park in Settle.

They are open at all times and available for anyone wishing to dispose of knives or bladed items.

The scheme aims to reduce risks in the community and encourage safe disposal practices.
