Organisers of Silsden Proms on the Farm have presented a cheque for £3,000 to Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice following the success of this summer’s community music event.
Hundreds of people gathered for an evening of music and community spirit at this year's Silsden Proms on Saturday 19th July.
The event raised a total of £5,000, which is being shared between Manorlands and Silsden Methodist Church.
Volunteers from the event met with Andrew Wood from the hospice to hand over this year's donation.
The money will help Manorlands to continue providing expert palliative care and support to local families.
The evening featured live music from Hot Aire Concert Band, sixties group The 1960 Four and local singers April Elizabeth and Sarah Halstead.
The award-winning Tewit Silver Band led the dancing and flag-waving with their Last Night of the Proms-themed performance.
As always, Proms-goers brought their own decorated gazebos, adding colour to the event.
Judges awarded the Best-Dressed Gazebo prize to a Pyjama Party themed gazebo, while The Farmers’ Market gazebo was named runner-up.
Fundraising activities included a bottle tombola, raffle and super raffle – featuring prizes donated by individuals and local businesses.
Silsden Proms on the Farm’s lead organiser William Jowitt said:
“Seeing £3,000 go directly to Manorlands Hospice is a wonderful reminder of what this event is all about – bringing people together and making a difference.
"We’re proud that Proms on the Farm continues to support charities that do so much for our community, and we’d like to thank everyone who came along, donated, or helped in any way to make the evening a success.”
Next year’s Silsden Proms on the Farm will take place on Saturday 18th July 2026.
