Skipton school's reunion event returns after five-year break

Former pupils of Ermysted’s Grammar School are being invited to attend this year’s Old Boys’ Dinner, which is taking place for the first time since 2019.

The event on Saturday 13th December is introducing a refreshed format designed to be more relaxed, inclusive and affordable for former pupils and staff.

Instead of a 3-course meal, attendees will be served a pie and peas - and an earlier start and finish time than previously will allow old school friends to continue their reunion in Skipton’s pubs and bars.

Ticket prices have been cut to £10, with pupils who left in the last decade and former school staff being eligible for a discounted ticket.

Stuart Clarkson from Ermysted’s Old Boys’ Society said:

“The pandemic put a stop to our event for a couple of years and then other circumstances have meant we’ve not been able to get our annual dinner back up and running until now.

“We’re keen to keep the Old Boys’ Dinner alive as one of our school’s great traditions and are always looking for more former pupils to get involved with the Society too.

“Tickets are already selling well and we hope to see lots of familiar faces from across the generations back at Ermysted’s this December to catch up with old friends and teachers.”

Tickets for the event, which takes place from 4.30pm on Saturday 13th December, are available now via the Ermysted’s Old Boys’ Society website at www.ermystedsoldboys.co.uk/old-boys-dinner-2025.

In addition, the school’s annual Founders’ Day service will take place this year at 2pm on Friday 12th December at Holy Trinity Church in Skipton, with former pupils welcome to join the congregation.
