Skipton Pride is set to return bigger and better than ever for 2025 - and new funding means it will be free for everyone.
This year there is a new team of organisers representing the businesses of Skipton, and is also relocating to the High Street where a half road closure will take place.
The celebration of LGBTQIA+ pride, diversity, and inclusion will take place on Sunday 3rd August, marking the first time the event will be held on the Hjgh Street.
And this year's event has been boosted by funding from the North Yorkshire Mayor’s Vibrant & Sustainable High Street Fund, along with funding from Skipton Town Council and other sponsors.
Now officially registered as a charity, Skipton Pride is entering a new chapter focused on sustainability, community engagement, and visibility.
The High Street location promises a vibrant, accessible, and inclusive atmosphere, with music, food and drink vendors, and community stalls.
Edwin Rothwell, representing the organising team, said:
“The High Street is at the heart of the community in Skipton.
“It’s the perfect place to host the celebration.
“We are thrilled that we have received funding for the event with support from The North Yorkshire Mayor’s Vibrant & Sustainable High Street Fund, along with funding from Skipton Town Council and our incredible business sponsors.
“That means this will be a true re-launch of Skipton Pride”.
Skipton Pride 2025 is free to attend and welcomes everyone to join in a day of celebration, solidarity, and joy.
Fundraising dinner
To raise extra funding for the event and to celebrate Pride Month, Skipton Pride are working in partnership with the Skipton Hotel to host the Skipton Pride Month Fundraising Dinner.
Billed as an evening to "celebrate love, diversity, and community", the event will give visitors an "unforgettable evening" honouring Pride Month in style.
Organisers are actively seeking local businesses and individuals to support the event through sponsorships and donations.
