The library will be offering free slippers and social time for the elderly.
The library on the High Street are said to be 'excited' for their 'Slipper Social' on 19th November.
Locals are invited to drop in between 10 am and 12 pm.
There will be drinks, biscuits, and the opportunity for a chat, as well as going home with a free pair of anti-slip slippers.
Its creation was to prevent older people from having falls which are often due to loose, backless slippers.
A spokesperson for the North Yorkshire library service said:
"Slips, trips, and falls by older people can affect their ability to live independently, so North Yorkshire Library service is working with North Yorkshire Sport and other partners to host “slipper socials” to tackle this issue."
The hashtag #slippersocial, is being used on the library service's Facebook to spread the message for those who need it to attend.
