Skipton Bid has announced the launch of the new Skipton Ghost Tour.
The ghost tour is hosted by the makers of the Otley Ghost Tour, Turnip Fish Theatre Company.
The tour is said to unveil the eerie tales and local lore of Skipton.
Led by the enigmatic figure known only as "The Butcher," who roams the streets of Skipton during the day and guides these spine-tingling tours by night, participants are guaranteed an entertaining and immersive experience.
The tour will head through the Parish Churchyard to the canal and stumble over the haunted cobbles of Sheep Street while delving into the intriguing history of the town's kings, queens, knights, witches, butchers, ghosts, and even sheep!
Skipton Ghost Tour will run every Saturday at 6:30 PM and 8:00 PM, starting from the entrance of Skipton Castle.
Artistic director of Turnip Fish Company, Daisy Lyons said:
"This tour is not just about ghost stories; it's about bringing the rich history of Skipton to life in a spooky and entertaining way.
"We invite everyone to join us for a unique evening of exploration and discovery as we uncover the captivating tales that have shaped Skipton."
Skipton Bid manager, Sarah Howsen added:
“We are thrilled to be working with Turnip Fish Theatre to once again bring a Ghost Walk to Skipton.
“Whether you’re a history buff, a ghost enthusiast, or simply looking for a fun night out, this tour is an experience not to be missed.
“The Skipton Ghost Tour offers a perfect blend of history, folklore, and entertainment, making it suitable for both locals and visitors.”
