Teams are being invited to take part in a charity dragon boat race returning to Skipton this spring.
Organised by The Principle Trust Children's Charity, the event is set to take place on Sunday,10th May 2026 at The Coniston Hotel Country Estate & Spa. The annual event will see teams compete in a series of head-to-head dragon boat races, with each team made up of 10 paddlers and a drummer. No previous experience is required, with training and equipment provided on the day. Participants from businesses, community groups and groups of friends are all encouraged to take part, with the event aimed at combining fundraising with a day of activity and teamwork. Funds raised will support the charity’s work providing respite breaks for children across Yorkshire who are facing challenging circumstances. A limited number of places are available, with teams required to register in advance. The fee is £699 per team (equipment & full instruction included).
