A retrospective application for 15 advertising boards at Silsden Sports Club has been submitted, 12 years after the signs were installed.

The advertising consent application says the boards are used to advertise club sponsors, and have been in place for over 12 years at the edge of Keighley Road.

The final decision on whether the club can keep the signs will be made by Bradford Council.

Silsden Town Council has said they have no objection to the plans

“Provided this complies with Green Belt policy, which Bradford Council showed how strict they were at adhering to when it came to Land Adjacent To Golf Driving Range application.”

That statement refers to a planning application submitted by Isherwood’s butchers to build a new farm shop and café on a Green Belt site next to the golf driving range off Keighley Road.

Bradford Council refused the application in April 2024, saying the plans went against policies that prevent Green Belt development.

An appeal against this refusal was submitted, but was dismissed by a Government planning inspector who backed up Bradford Council’s decision.

A decision on the advertising application for Silsden Sports Club is expected next month.
