A 24-hour PureGym has opened in Albion Place. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by local boxing coach and community figure Mark Shaw.
Mark Shaw, the owner of Craven Community Boxing Club received the “Shining Star” honour at this year’s Skipton Business Awards.
Local MP Sir Julian Smith attended the opening and later shared his support on social media, writing that it was “fantastic to be at the opening of the new PureGym in Skipton today” and praising the facility for “helping people stay active and healthy.” He also congratulated Mark Shaw on his role in the event.
A representative for PureGym said the launch comes in response to growing local interest in accessible fitness options across North Yorkshire.
“We’re thrilled to open our brand-new gym in Skipton,” they said. “With no-contract memberships, members can enjoy 24/7 access to high-quality equipment and a wide choice of classes — all designed to help people feel their best after every session. We look forward to welcoming everyone from the local community.”
The new gym offers flexible memberships and aims to provide a modern, affordable fitness space in the heart of the town.
