Whether you stroll along the river, discover the woodland nature trails, search for the bunnies, learn to ride a bike, or take on the Welly Walk, there’s something to inspire everyone at Bolton Abbey this Spring and Summer.
The Easter Trail returns from 21st March with the larger than life bunnies within the beautiful surroundings of Strid Wood. Trail sheet are available from the Riverside car park kiosk with the kids little adventure starting at the entrance to Strid Wood.
A spokesperson said:
"Once you have completed the trail, why not take the trail sheet home and enter our ‘Design a Bunny’ competition. The winner will see their bunny design brought to life in the 2027 Easter Trail and receive a Bolton Abbey Season Ticket, giving daily admission to the Estate car parks."
Entry to the Easter Trail is included with your car parking ticket.

From 2nd May, The Family Cycle Zone offers a safe area for children to cycle, away from the hazards of traffic and pedestrians. With “roads” cut through the grass and road signs to mark the way, children can enjoy endless fun and freedom manoeuvring the roundabout and junctions!
Situated adjacent to the Bolton Abbey car park, the Cycle Zone is the perfect place for your little one to gain courage and find their balance.
A muddy adventure awaits with the Welly Walk, which leads you from the stepping stones to the Cavendish Pavilion cafe, along riverside footpaths. Let your little ones put their balance skills to the test, scramble up nets, navigate the pole-to-pole and try their hardest to keep clean as they come down the slides! The Welly Walk is available from 23rd May until 1st November.
There are many picnic spots all around the estate to enjoy a picnic, or maybe an ice cream
All year round, another major attraction is the magnificent Bolton Priory Ruins. Next to them lies the Priory Church which has survived many trials and tribulations dating back to the 12th century and remains to this day a place of worship.

The Riverside car park is open from 9am to 5pm (until the end of March – last admission 4pm) and until 7pm from 1st April (last admission 5.30pm). Entry to the Easter Trail. Welly Walk and Family Cycle Zone is included with a car parking ticket.
