Craven College students appear on BBC's Countryfile

Countryfile.

Craven Community College students recently featured on BBC's Countryfile.

The students appeared on last nights episode on BBC 1 at 6pm talking about apprenticeships.

Apprentices Rebecca, Joe, Charlie and Tom and former Apprentices Harvey and Ellen from Craven College spoke to presenter Adam Henson at CCM Auctions Skipton Auction Mart Livestock Auctioneers and gave an insight into studies, farming life and their hopes for the future.

Their tutor Graham Taylor explained how the course is so important for training the next generation of farming professionals.

Craven College serves a largely rural community so we understand the needs of local employers and their workforce.

Opportunities in Agriculture range from working on the traditional smaller farm or specialist farm with rare breeds to the large commercial farm with a variety of animals and crops.

The apprentices work with livestock, managing a dairy herd, cattle for beef, sheep for both wool and lamb, pigs, poultry, goats and more.
