Now in it's sixth year, Skipton Step into Action are calling for support to provide Christmas gifts for children in Skipton and surrounding villages who would otherwise go without.
Christmas Elves 2025 is a coordinated scheme to provide gifts for children whose families are struggling to afford gifts this Christmas.
Entirely run by volunteers, families can request a gift to the value of £20-£25 for any child between the ages of 0 and 17, living in Skipton or the surrounding villages (Bradley, Cononley, Farnhill, Carleton, Cowling, Crosshills, Glusburn, Draughton, Embsay, Gargrave, Sutton and Thornton in Craven).
Skipton Step into Action host the requests on their anonymous gift list for people to buy. They then collect and wrap the gifts, delivering them in time for Christmas.
Hannah Crabtree, from Skipton Step into Action, told Your Skipton:
"For the last five years, I have been amazed by the generosity and kindness in our community — people quietly doing what they can to make sure no child is forgotten at Christmas."
The public also have the option to donate any amount of their choice to support buying any remaining gifts.
This scheme has helped so many families in the local area. One parent said:
“Your team has saved us from having nothing to give our children at Christmas. So from the bottom of mine and my wife's heart thank you as it really was the only thing they got this year.
"My wife is on lifelong sickness and I am an unpaid carer so have been really struggling this year with everything going on.
"But you have come to the rescue so I hope that this can keep going and keep helping families like mine. Your charity saved my children's Christmas.”
