The charity football match hosted at Skipton Town AFC’s MJL Stadium on Sunday, 24 August, has raised a final total £7,000 for Andy’s Man Club.
The memorial match, held in honour of William Phillip, Darren Hey and Nick Dawson, saw a team of friends of Will and Darren take on a Brighouse side captained by Nick’s brother, Joe. Over 400 people attended the event.
Following the event, Skipton Town AFC posted on Facebook:
"We can't thank you all enough for your contributions and generosity to raise awareness for such an important cause.
"We are grateful for everyone involved in making the event happen, buying raffle tickets and incredible support on the day".
The total raised surpassed initial reports of around £2,665, reflecting additional contributions from ticket sales, a raffle supported by local businesses, and community donations.
Funds raised will support Andy’s Man Club—a peer-led UK charity providing free support groups for men experiencing mental health challenges—and help raise awareness of suicide prevention across the community.
